James Schrag of 360 Sports Wins….

…the Tulsa Tough Brady Crit Cat V 35+ race due to Bob’s Pickle Pops!

One thing I’ve learned as an avid cyclist is that hard efforts, whether climbing or racing, can cause painful and persistent cramps in my legs.  I have also learned that pickle juice can prevent the onset of cramps, or make them disappear when they do occur.  During my 4 century rides last year; I continually looked forward to pickle juice at rest stops.  I found it to be one of the few liquids I could get down 80-90 miles into a 100-mile ride.  It was also invaluable when the twinges of impending cramps started making me suffer through those last, long, miles.

I was pleasantly surprised when this year, on the Flower Power Bike Ride in Muskogee, OK, one of the rest stops offered Bob’s Pickle Pops. Here, at last, was a convenient way to carry pickle juice with me instead of hoping it was available at the next rest stop.  I immediately consumed one, grabbed three more for my jersey pockets, and completed that ride with ease, consuming my private stash of pickle juice on the bike as needed; before, during, or after the hardest parts of the ride.  I was so impressed with the product that I ordered a case as soon as I got home from the ride.

This year I started racing for 360 Sports, a start up team from a local bike shop.   I most recently participated in, and won the Tulsa Tough Brady Crit Cat V 35+ race.  While warming up on the trainer before the race, I had a Pickle Pop.  With half a lap to go in the race, I uncorked a surprising sprint attack and opened a gap the field couldn’t close.  An effort like that would normally have me locked up in painful cramps.  Instead, I felt absolutely great and was able to celebrate the victory with my teammates, family, and friends.

The story doesn’t end there, though. Two nights later, I was wakened from my sleep with a severe cramp in my lower left leg, no doubt a remnant of the massive effort I poured into that winning sprint.  No amount of rubbing or stretching would ease the cramp.  I finally went to my stash of Bob’s Pickle Pops, downed one, and as I reached the end of the Pickle Pop, the cramps completely subsided and didn’t come back.  I slept peacefully the rest of the night.

I have several more major events on my cycling calendar this year, and you can bet there will be Pickle Pops in my jersey pockets.

Thank you Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine!

Thank you so much for your speedy turn around.

I am very excited to surprise my 5 year old with what I am sure will be her new favorite treat. As a little girl who is severely allergic to sugar, red dye and chocolate, we don’t have many options for teats or desserts. Somehow she has a “sweet tooth” for pickles. We live in Fresno Ca, where our summers are very hot. After dinner it usually a family tradition to consume way too many Otter Pops, however because of the sugar content our youngest daughter is not allowed to partake. So we always have a large container of pickles that she enjoys while we all chow down on our Otter Pops. I am so excited to surprise her with these. We saw them like so many others on Unwrapped and her face just lit up when she saw them. Thank you for being creative and introducing us to something that we would of otherwise never of thought of.

Thanks Again, John F.

Walgreens New Braunfels now carrying pickle pops

It is every companies ambition to sell their product to the masses in today’s competitive world. One such way is through national retail chains like Walgreen’s convenience stores. One of the more popular Walgreen stores is in New Braunfels Texas outside of Austin. This store is considered a whale and is now selling our pickle pops frozen and unfrozen with success.

After a month in the store, i had a chance to visit and see how they were doing. While there, i met with a customer and mentioned our pickle pops. Bobette mentioned that her son loves pickles and bought her a few to try.  Thank you Bobette for trying our pops. We hope you enjoy them.

COMMUNITY SPORTS: Unknown sport of pickleball gaining steam locally

Every once in awhile a good idea comes along that is out of the box bizarre left field thinking. As a matter of fact our pickle pops are one of them. Well here is another. Pickleball. Yes Pickleball! What is Pickleball you might ask? Well it is a bit unusual and a bit genius. And what does Bob’s Pickle Pops have to do with Pickleball? “It sounds vaguely like ping pong, looks an awful lot like tennis and is played on a court similar to what might be used for badminton. The game is pickleball, and it may just be the most popular sport you’ve never heard of.” Says the author in the North County News. Bob’s Pickle Pops have been invited to sponsor the tournament with our hydration quenching tube of pickle juice magic. The players loved them and said we were the hit of the tournament. Eat your heart out wiffle balls. All of us at Bob’s Pickle Pops would like to give a very special thanks to: Trudie Stapleton for the honor of being part of this very exciting sport.   www.nctimes.com

The Curious Adventures of Pickle Bob Children’s Story Book with Sounds.

Last week i purchased an Apple iPad because my wife is heading into back surgery and needed an alternative form of entertainment to enjoy on the couch. Little did i know how the iPad would possibly change our lives in wonderful ways. We are using it for all kinds of stuff daily and quietly neglecting our computers with the exception of work. We stumbled upon an illustrated children’s book in the app store and realized the future of Pickle Bob was destined to become a digital illustrated book with sound.

The previous year Victor Guiza a gifted illustrator and I had worked on this children’s book with the expectation of selling it via a book publisher. Once we saw the interactivity of the iPad, we realized the future is digital books with sound.  I contacted the developer of the children’s book app ESZ Consulting in England via the internet and struck a deal in a matter of one day.  They were very helpful in offering to create one app binary code for both the iPhone and iPad applications and offered to throw in page turning and sound linking for a great price.

The book is almost done and ready to publish tomorrow. We will have to wait a week or so for Apple to approve it. Three weeks and our book could be published. Astounding isn’t it! Looks like we may be riding the wave of the iPad children’s books fervor. Read Here.

Follow Pickle Bob in his voyage from childhood catching frogs, to his swashbuckling days fighting the Peppered Pickled Pirates, on his way to America to save the children from the Dastardly Sugar Monsters. Your children will also enjoy a little history about pickles and how America was named after a pickle peddler too. Sixteen wonderful illustrations with background sounds to entertain and delight preschool to kindergarten ages. This iBook is available for the iPad and iPhone.

Hunger is the best pickle. Benjamin Franklin

What does “hunger is the best pickle” mean?

He must have been using the word “pickle” in the British sense of “condiment.” The quote means that a hungry man relishes any food, without having to spice it up.

Bob’s Pickle Pops in the Metroplex

I really appreciated your help in locating Bob’s Pickle Pops in the metroplex.  As I told you on the phone, I first had them at the MS 150 – Frisco to Ft. Worth last year and have been looking for them since.  I was very glad to see them at the ride this year.  I had tucked an extra one in my pocket to keep for another rest stop if needed.  I didn’t need it but someone else was asking for one and I gave it to him.  I know that a lot of people were asking for them and they helped provide the electrolytes we needed.  Thank you for your sponsorship!

I use pickle juice during my training for my marathon and ironman training.  This is a perfect size for me to take as a single serving, it is easy to transport while running or cycling and it travels by plane in my carry-on luggage.

I am currently training for my next full ironman and would love to have them available to train with and to have for my event.

Thank you for your assistance in helping locate them locally.  I will share these with my coaches at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s, Team in Training, and my triathlon club, Texas Triple Threat.

Sincerely,

Yvette DDS.

Chemo Patient Loves Bob’s Pickle Pops Taste

Hello David, You should see one coming over from Janelle at some point tomorrow.  Wanted to let you know that a good family friend has a 16 year old son who just completed the main phase of chemo treatment and he’s doing better, he is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic and he had some of the pickle pops and counted them as one of the few foods he was able to tolerate and taste (that and cream of mushroom soup right out of the can).  We got to spend some time with them over the weekend for a Monty Python Holy Grail party since laughter is good medicine.

Thought you’d like to know (again) how your product is doing good.
